Hi everybody! Today’s blog post and video is about improving promenades. We talk about why they are so difficult and what technique advice I have to improve yours! Thanks for watching and reading.
The first thing we talk about is the importance of staying over the ball of your foot. You should always be lifting up the heel, not the toes.
You can achieve this by thinking of pulling upwards through your supporting hamstring. I like to think of zipping up a pair of really tight jeans. It’s also helpful to think of pulling up through the outside of your supporting leg.
Finally, don’t let your weight sink downwards as you promeande – this will make it very difficult to lift the heel of the floor and be able to complete the step correctly.
